Regular and thorough checks and adjustments of the aids to ensure their functionality and safety in everyday life

Decubitus prophylaxis

Training content at a glance

Detection of pressure points:

Comprehensive training on how to recognise and avoid pressure sores in good time in order to prevent skin damage and maintain skin health

Positioning and positioning techniques:

Regular changes of position (e.g. every 2 hours) to relieve pressure, use of special positioning techniques such as 30-degree lateral positioning or micro-positioning to distribute the pressure.

Anti-decubitus aids:

Use of pressure relief materials such as alternating pressure mattresses, foam cushions or gel pads

Skin care and skin inspection:

Daily inspection of vulnerable skin areas for redness, skin changes or bruising Avoid aggressive cleansers and massaging in creams that could dry out the skin.

Mobility promotion:

Promoting mobility to improve circulation and prevent pressure sores, as well as incorporating active and passive movement exercises to reduce the strain caused by immobility.
